STAR method
Situation – Task – Action – Result. UK competency interviews ask “Tell me about a time when…”. Prepare 8–10 stories (teamwork, conflict, failure, leadership, deadline, initiative) and quantify results.
UK CV format
- 2 pages maximum; no photo, date of birth, marital status or religion.
- Order: contact details → short profile → education/experience (reverse chronological) → skills → projects.
- Bullet points with outcomes and numbers; UK spelling.
- State your right to work clearly, e.g. “Graduate visa valid until [date] – no sponsorship needed until then”.
